We have been making a concerted effort to sightsee areas in and around Philadelphia. After baby, it’s just so much easier to stay home. You often have to dig deep to go-see-do.
Despite the football conflict, we headed out to Longwood Gardens on a recent Sunday. Yowza. We went in blind. Besides the giveaway name, we really didn’t know what to expect. While we only saw a small part of the expansive grounds, it was absolutely gorgeous.
I loved every bit about this day. It was crisp. We got to wear hats, scarves and gloves. The crowds were thin. The cafe(teria) was really tasty. Maxine greeted me with giant baby smiles whenever she caught sight of me thru the plants/trees.
The conservatory was bonkers. It inspired me to proclaim that any future homes of ours must have a conservatory. While I may have to relinquish that dream, I can definitely have a room that is positively filled with red paper lanterns.
I suspect Maxine loved every bit about this day too. There were trains, tasty food, hats, rooms filled with red paper lanterns, and giant momma smiles peeking from between the trees.
