It is with heavy hearts that we bid a fond farewell to Philadelphia. Leaving was the hardest decision our family has faced. The city saw some of our most cherished moments. Our wedding. Our baby. Dear friends we miss bunches already. A hundred memories all tied for my top five best most favorite things ever.
I search for words to do it justice. The experience in total. It was hard. It’s a hard city. Being removed from family once we started our own was hard. For anyone who’s ever lived there, for anyone who is friends with the top notch folks who took us in, it’s also amazing. It’s warm and welcoming. And just so much fun.
I miss it and I don’t. Time will tell if we’ve made the right decision. Or because we made it, it will just be the right decision. For now, it’s good. For now, it’s easy.
But looking back with fresh eyes, I don’t recall the bad things. The hard things. The really, really scary things that happened to us.
The next couple of posts are my fresh eyed Philadelphia. The city and people I love very, very much.
