I have been to Penn State exactly once. We went last year for a football game. We went to cheer on Purdue.

I don’t remember exactly when, but it was before all the scandal broke. Or at least before it was big enough for me to know about it.

In my one and only experience, I wasn’t impressed. I was visibly pregnant and they wouldn’t allow me to bring in an EMPTY Nalgene water container. EMPTY. They stated (and stated and stated) their policy was no beverages allowed or some such line. I stated it’s not a beverage, it’s a container. They held firm to their broad re-imagination of the word beverage. They made me throw away the container or I couldn’t enter. I told them they weren’t very family friendly and this would be my last time to their stadium.

That is more true now than ever. I have a zero tolerance policy on some issues.

I won’t see a Mel Gibson movie.

I won’t listen to Chris Brown’s music.

And I won’t see another game at Penn State.

Boiler up.
